She is a professor on Human Right and Gender Studies at State Islamic University (UIN) Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, Indonesia (2020). Her international reputation derived from her leadership as a first chairperson of the Independent Permanent Human Right Commission (IPHRC) (2012-2014) established by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) consist of 57 Muslim countries which based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Currently she is also the director for Kalijaga Institute for Justice working on Human Right in Muslim World.
