8th Annual Southeast Asia Freedom of Religion or Belief Conference 

Boat People SOS (BPSOS), Asian Forum for Human Rights and Development (FORUM-ASIA), and the International Commission of Jurists (ICJ) co-organized this event which was held in  Bangkok in late 2015. The event welcomed the UN Special Rapporteur on Freedom  of Religion or Belief to  Bangkok  for  3 days  of  thoughtful  dialogue  and  discussion  with  civil  society  organizations, religious  community  representatives,  and   other key  stakeholders   from  the   region. The  event  culminated in  a  Conference Declaration  aiming at moving the regional  FORB  movement  forward  and  a press  conference  led by  Dr. Bielefeldt  held at the Foreign Correspondence Club Thailand (FCCT).

The conference brought about the formation of Freedom of Religion of  Belief Roundtables in  ASEAN.  The FORB  Roundtable is a space for groups, organizations and individuals who share the same goal of promoting freedom of religion or belief to gather and to   share  ideas   and    objectives. It   is  not  an  organization  and  therefore  has no  organizational  structure. It  operates  as  a  forum where all participants are equal.
